100 Voices of Gospel | BGT

22 May 2016

I have not watched Britains Got Talent every week. However today I tuned in and saw this amazing choir. They are called 100 Voices of Gospel. They sing they dance they entertain. They did a brilliant job. I definitely think the Queen would enjoy their performance especially as she has recently made it clear how her faith in Christ has sustained her. I really enjoyed their Semi Final performance.

Their audition performance which both Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon sought the golden buzzer for them.

19 May 2016

I first came across an even younger Jakalyn Carr whilst watching sermons on Youtube. There are videos of her sermons which are definitely worth watching. She is definitely an anointed young lady.

She is now 19yrs old and recently appeared on the Rickey Smiley Show and shared a word of encouragement.

Watch the video below and I pray it blessed you.

What Do You Do When God Is Silent?

15 May 2016

So today at church the topic was:

What do you do when God is silent?

We were given the scripture of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 which says;

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
    And a time to die;
A time to plant,
    And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
    And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
    And a time to build up;

A time to weep,
    And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
    And a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones,
    And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
    And a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to gain,
    And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
    And a time to throw away;

A time to tear,
    And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
    And a time to speak;

A time to love,
    And a time to hate;
A time of war,
    And a time of peace.
(NJKV)

When I got home and reflected on this, especially on the closing of the sermon which stated we must keep close to God and keep pressing forward a song came to mind. Juanita Bynum's "In the Silence".

Its such a powerful song. Silence can be frustrating but what do you do in those quiet times can truly make a difference. Don't lose faith still push forward.  What do you do when you feel God is silent?

Police Officer Suspended for Prayer

12 May 2016

A West Midlands Deputy Police Commissioner was suspended for offering to pray for a family.

18year old Kenechi Phillips was shot dead as he sat in a car in Birmingham. Yvonne Mosquito asked the family to join her in prayer. Apparently the family have said this has caused them distress. As a result the police commissioner after a period of suspension will now leave her role. It has been mentioned her visit to the family may have interrupted the investigation but clearly prayers have been used as a factor in the decision making.

Is it okay to pray for others despite your job role? The Queen and David Cameron have both stated this is a Christian country founded on Christian principles but is prayer really a threat? Or is this simply bad timing or maybe her job title meant the family could not receive the sincerity in the offer of prayer.

Who knew that prayers cause distress.

Rizon - Taking It Back
