Passover | Jesus Has Risen

20 April 2014
Jesus was slain on the cross and His blood shed for our iniquities. Death could not hold him. For He died and rose again claiming the victory.

As Christians the Passover has gotten somewhat muddled with Easter. Though in the Bible we are told of the Passover and not of Easter. So let us observe the Passover for what it is and symbolises. When Jesus died on the cross He became the ultimate sacrificial lamb, sent down from heaven to save mankind. So let us all observe the Lord's Passover and not forget why this deserves remembrance and observation.

You can read about the Passover in the Bible in Exodus 12
You can read more about Jesus' resurrection Luke 24

Joseph Prince | The Real Noah Story

17 April 2014

In this video Joseph Prince shares the real Noah story as told in the book of Genesis in the Bible.

At present film lovers and hollywood alike have been watching and discussing the current Bible inspired film Noah starring Russell Crowe. Although inspired by the Bible it has been re-written to tell a different story that strays away from the book in which it was inspired by. Based on the many reviews I have read and watched this film is said to have removed God from the story. Movie goers will not see God's love nor the rainbow at the end. The rainbow is a symbol of God's promise not to flood the whole entire earth again as told in Genesis 9.

And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. (Genesis 9:12-15)
By all means go ahead and watch the current Noah film. A biblical film is not what you will see. Apparently it is more like Gladiators in the rain. If one day I see it myself I may do a follow up post. If you have seen the film please share your thoughts.

Palm Sunday | Hosanna

13 April 2014

Today April 13, 2014 is Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday begins Holy Week. It starts with Jesus' triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. He rode into the city on a donkey and the crowds followed many laying their garments and palm branches on the ground before He passed by exclaiming Hosanna!

Read the full story in Matthew 21:1-11

Below are some songs that I love to listen to called Hosanna. The first is by Hillsong Chapel, the second by Kirk Franklin and the third by Israel Houghton.

12 April 2014

The UK Prime Minister has delivered a Christian centred Easter message.

"Easter is the most important date in the Christian calendar, and an incredibly special time for people across Britain and around the world.
He discusses his trip to Jerusalem and how there are many Christians around the world who are persecuted for their faith. Also that Britain believes in religious freedom.

God's Not Dead

9 April 2014

Whilst watching the 700 Club I came across this movie called "God's Not Dead". It is currently number 3 in the American film charts just below the re-written Noah movie. The trailer shows a philosophy student proclaiming his faith and why he will not deny God. The professor challenges him to prove it or fail the class.

If you were faced with the task to prove that God is alive what would you do? How would you prove to people of varying degrees of understanding belief that God is alive?

Have a look at the movies website which is worth a browse: God's not dead movie website

I am unsure if this will get a UK release at the big screen but even on DVD this will be worth a watch.

Sarah Jakes | Lost and Found

4 April 2014

Sarah Jakes is the daughter of the well known Bishop T.D. Jakes. She has developed an amazing ministry in her own right and shares how she overcame her own life's trials. In her webisode Lost and Found episode 1: The Evolution of Grace, she greets the audience by stating that she is not a

"... minister but in ministry that means I have taken all of the things in my life that I thought would at one point hurt me or harm me keep me from grace and used it to help other people."
Sarah became a mother at the tender age of 14. Still just just in her twenties she has also experienced divorce after a failed marriage. Compounded by the fact that she is a preachers kid who did not feel like she belonged in the Church. Her book Lost and Found is about God's saving grace in her life and being an overcomer. It is available to buy from 1st May 2014 or you can purchase it now as an e-book.
