Theresa May| Christians Should Have No Fear

UK Prime Minister Theresa May during Prime Minister Questions was asked about the rights of Christians in the UK.

A report by the Equalities and Human Rights commission stated that employers were anxious when it came to Christmas for fear of being deemed offensive by others. Theresa May responded that Christians should be able to speak freely in public and at work about their faith without fear.

This is good to hear as although the UK has a very strong Christian background, much has been done to attack those who exercise their faith. There have been court cases, disciplinary meetings where Christians have lost their jobs, prevented from fostering for merely mentioning what their faith says when asked about it. It's December and the Christmas countdown has begun. Yet you will have some difficulty finding a Christmas card in the shops that pertain to the meaning of the Christian holiday.

Christianity is not something to fear it should be embraced. The laws of this and many lands are based on the Bible in principle.

Well done to Theresa May for letting it be known that religious freedom and rights belong to Christians too.

Hilary Clinton | Let Us Not Grow Weary

Hilary Clinton has worked in public service in the USA all of her adult life. After failing to capture the Democrat nomination (she was up against Obama) in her 1st attempt she did not give up. She eventually did become the Democrats presidential nominee and went head to head with the controversial Donald Trump. During her concession speech she spoke of how much better people are united together.

She also quoted :

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Here is a lady who has tried and tried and given her all and still that final goal has not been reached. But it is okay. God may just have another plan. A new goal a new place where achievments and good influence can be made. I hope you reading this are encouraged. No matter how hard it feels to climb that mountain keep climbing. Always choose to do a good thing. The reward may not be what you expected but a reward will be your portion. Never loose hear in doing good. God sees your work and He knows His plans for you. Keep the faith.

Be encouraged.

Empire's Ta'Rhonda Jones Shares How She Got a Sign From God

Ta'Rhonda Jones plays the role of Porsha, Cookies sassy assistant on the very popular TV show Empire.

She went from working multiple jobs at once to becoming a successful actress in her own right. She explains that when she got the role on Empire she also had another job offer and therefore she turned to God to help her decide.

Worship Wednesdays | Fantasia ft Tye Tribbett

Today's Worship Wednesday features vocal powerhouse Fantasia Barrino.

Fantasia won American Idol in 2004. She went on to release R&B albums and has experimented with her style over the years. She is one of few  Idol contestants to consistently maintain a career post reality tv. Lately, she has been more vocal about her faith in Christ and has spoken about how important fasting and praying has been in her life.

The song I Made It, it is a declaration of having gone through a storm and making it through on the other side. She sings about the enemy trying to take her out but God stepped in and she made it through ok. It is a such an inspirational upbeat song and a gospel song at that. When you listen to the song you might be ready for a praise break. Below is a live performance followed by the Audio vid that includes Tye Tribbett's unmistakeable sound. God is surely calling his people. 

The Story of the Wood Cutter

Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it. 

The pay was really good and so was the working conditions. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he is supposed to work. The first day, the woodcutter brought in18 trees.

“Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!

Very motivated by the boss words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees.

The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring 10 trees.

Day after day he was bringing less and lesser trees.

“I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought.

He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.

“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the boss asked.

“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”

Reflection:

Our lives are like that. We sometimes get so busy that we don’t take the time to sharpen the “axe”.

In today’s world, it seems that everyone is busier than ever but less happy than ever.

Why is that?

Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay “sharp”?

There’s nothing wrong with activity and hard work but we should not get so busy that we neglect the truly important things in life, like :

our personal lives, 

taking the time to get close to our God the Creator.

giving more time to our family,

taking the time to read the Bible, spiritual material etc.

We all need time

to relax,

to think and meditate on God's word,

to learn and grow spiritually. 

If we don’t take the time to sharpen the “axe”, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness.
